welcome to the kashmircorps blog

About Us

KashmirCorps is an independent nonpartisan, nonprofit organization whose mission is to improve the welfare of Kashmiri society through service and research.

We fulfill this mission through:

KashmirCorps’  annual Summer Public Service Program, which offers a platform for organizations in Kashmir to benefit from bright individuals around the world interested in volunteering in the region. Through the program, we directly address critical social challenges on the ground in Kashmir. KashmirCorps Volunteers also embody the culture of service, innovation, and empathy we hope to engender in Kashmiri society

The development of an open-source research library, in which we map some of the key challenges, metrics, and stakeholders of the region. We hope this research will be leveraged by a global audience who previously might not have considered working collaboratively or investing in the region because of the general lack of information.

Engagement opportunities for individuals and communities in the United States, where we are based. For example, in 2009, KashmirCorps hosted the first conference to ever discuss and network around the developmental and social challenges in Kashmir. We hope to harness resources across multiple sectors, including NGOs, universities, businesses, individuals, and research institutions all interested in positively contributing to the welfare of Kashmiri society.

Through our blog, we hope you will share in the memorable experiences our Volunteers are embracing as part of their commitment to service in Kashmir. For more information, please visit our website at www.kashmircorps.org
